Thermal Insulation Materials are used in Space Suits designs and a lot of other material protection that are sent to high temperatures during the space Journeys.
These materials are designed on the basic principle of Thermal Emittance. (Where the thermal insulation is achieved using reflectivity instead of absorption.)
These Multilayer Insulation Blankets were recently used in Mars Science Laboratory Robot called “Curiosity”. At the following areas:
Structural members
Instrumentation
Antennas
Radiators
Wire Recharter systems
Sunshield Covers.
Thermal Emittance is principle where required heat transfer is achieved by reflectivity instead of absorption.
Thermal Insulation Blankets production journey starts as thin layer of plastic which are then metalized with layer of aluminum. This process provides the film its required finish to reflect radiant energy. The measurement of this property is called emissivity. Lower the emissivity the better the reflective property of the film.
The same Principle is used in metalized Winter Ski Jackets of Columbia Brand by using Multilayer Insulation Blanket materials.
These principles used in Aerospace materials translates very nicely into a variety of other products used in varied industries
Thermal Insulated Ski Jackets.- Columbia Brand.
Insulation BLANKETS for walls and roofing in cold countries.
Insulation in Cold Storage Industries. Etc.
Solaris Reflexshades are used as interior application solution for treating the Heat loss/gain.
Solaris performs fantastically in both situations of heat loss/gain and prevents the same.
When the metallized surface is facing outside it prevents heat gain while when flipped around it prevents heat loss.
How it works please see the animated video.

The glass samples were positioned between the source of heat (heat lamp) and the solar BTU meter which measured what percentage of heat moved through the different types of glass.
The above metered measurements were recorded showing the amount of heat which passes through each type of glass.
Single Pane Clear: 85% of the heat (BTU’s) passes both ways through the glass.
Double Pane Clear: 70% of the heat (BTU’s) passes both ways through the glass.
Double Pane Low-E: 61% of the heat (BTU’s) passes both ways through the glass.
Installation in Mumbai
Installation done at Renowned Architect RaceCourse facing Office. The review is as follows.
“Located at Mahalaxmi, our Office has the view of Race Course. But with this amazing view, we also receive a lot of Heat and Sunlight directly into the office. Installation of the SOLARIS Veetro Blinds now lets us enjoy the amazing View and keeps the heat and sunlight out!!” – Quote by the Architect.
Installation done at Office facing Sea Link, Matunga.
The review for the see through Thermal reflex shade- SOLARIS is great.
